Nationwide were our 2019 Winner for their humour-driven campaign designed to encourage consumers to start saving, which featured a stand-up comedy night of up-and-coming comedians, putting their spin on the topic of savings.
Claire Whitelegg of the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority was the 2019 Winnerfor her foresight and energy in running an events programme putting on Family Finance Days.
Fiona Macrae was our 2018 Winner for her Travel Insurance campaign for customers with pre-existing medical conditions.
Building Public Trust, Consumer Champion Award
Roger Flaxman was the 2020 Winner who has dedicated over 50 years of service to the insurance profession. His passion for consumer protection has been the voice and conscience of the sector for many years. He also gives up his time to contribute to CII good practice guides, gives talks to the sector about professionalism, speaks out against injustice and is brave when calling out poor practice, ultimately for the benefit of the public.
Martin Lewis, our 2019 winner really took his passion to help the consumers of the future to an exceptional level, by creating and funding his ‘Your Money Matters’ educational textbook, which he supplied to 3,400 secondary schools in England.
James Daley our 2018 winner was awarded for his tireless campaigning for consumer causes on; unfair credit charges, fairness in funeral plans and the issue of consumers mis buying insurance. He has helped to drive forward good customer service with a stated mission of helping customers get a fairer deal.
Classroom to Boardroom Initiative of the Year
The Insurance Institute of Liverpool Careers Committee were our 2020 winners for their success and scale of their Careers Day initiative aimed at Year 10-13 students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds to consider a career in insurance.
The Zurich Youth Skills Programme won in 2019 for reaching a wide variety of students, many of whom did not have access through traditional routes of family, friends and peers to the information and support that Zurich provided.
Teresa Bentley of the London Market Group was our 2018 winner, for her project that arranged for careers officers to spend days at Lloyd’s to find out first-hand about working in the London Market. The feedback was that it was “the most inspirational careers event they had ever attended”.
Consumer Centric Inclusivity
Scottish Widows won in 2020 for their early support of Insuring Women’s Futures and their support for the market Task Force as well as leading the Women’s Pensions Empowerment workstream and providing expert resource into others.
Building Public Trust in Life, Pensions & Long-Term Savings Award
Andrew Wimberly of Alea Risk was our 2020 winnerm who’s work has immeasurably increased access to insurance for vulnerable customers by helping people with pre-existing health conditions obtain cover which was previously unavailable.
Building Public Trust in Insurance Award
Liz Mitchell won in 2020 for her help to increase access to cover by helping customers navigate the complex array of options around flood insurance. She has achieved this by consolidating provision of cover through engaging a dedicated panel of insurers in both Personal Lines as well as Commercial Lines and is passionate about getting the correct cover for customers in a very difficult market.
Samantha Eustace was our 2019 winner who reached out to over 2000 students in her career to date to support them in understanding the hidden world of insurance and the amazing prospects of getting a high-flying career off to a start without the conventional university pathway.
